Established in October 2019, Blitzworks is a creative and strategic consultancy that aims to provide clients with the fastest, most collaborative and productive creative process. As the Blitzworks website puts it, this approach is radical and timely as it reduces the delivery of world-class creative platforms to a few days instead of months.

Co-founded by Ajab Samrai, Marcus Brown and John Pallant, Blitzworks encapsulates the team’s desire to deliver big platform ideas at the speed of tech company innovation.

The Blitzworks approach relies on data to capture the behavioural insights that help create an emotional connection for every campaign and puts brands at the centre of the creative process. This approach is implemented by a team of diversely talented and knowledgeable individuals known as the ‘Blitz Squad’, who collectively ensure that client needs are met.

They are guided by experienced leaders and have experts on hand to help inform their decisions. From the multiple options that a creative team will typically explore initially, three creative platforms are developed, with potential execution examples developed around them. This process has been tried and tested by some of the world’s foremost brands and is regarded as faster, better and cheaper.

Brief Background

For Ajab Samrai, co-founding Blitzworks was the next logical step after decades of working at a high level with various global agencies. For the first three decades of his career, he enjoyed success working at Saatchi & Saatchi London under the late Paul Arden, a highly-respected creative.

He gained valuable experience working on various client accounts, many of them recognisable brands, and played a leading role in the rejuvenation of the Vodafone brand under WPP. Still, an urge to frighten himself led him to take up a top role at O&M Group Japan in 2013, where he was able to implement several changes that led to the office’s eventual success.

Core to the changes Mr. Samrai instituted in Japan was a reduction in the creative ideation process from weeks to days, which is the bedrock of the Blitzworks approach. According to him, this model frees up people to think faster and less rigidly while placing creativity at the centre of the process. Having the right people to actualise his methodology work was also essential.

Throughout his working life, Mr. Samrai has preferred a hands-on approach and leading by example, aspects that have helped Blitzworks adapt to the fast-evolving marketing era.
